| As UMASS Lacrosse team captained by ChE senior Joe Reale rises into the top 10, the game against Syracuse (ranked 2) on 25 April is crucial!!! CHIEF will host a tailgate celebration prior to the game (starting at 11:30AM) at McGuirk stadium. CHIEF will supply Nathans hotdogs and welcome all BYOB contributions. UMASS students AIChE Shine as host to Regional Meeting |

| Joelle, Ellie, Neva and a cast of thousands made the regional student AIChE meeting a stellar event. Over 200 attendees enjoyed the renewable energy theme and the many related events. The UMASS Chem-E car team qualified for the national competition in this event. Pictures are available. Kudos to all!!! |

Neil Forbes will win the prestigious William Corcoran Award for the best article in Chemical Engineering Education at the ASEE meeting

Lacrosse Season Opens |

Captain Joe Reale (Senior in ChE) scored in the first Lacrosse game this year as UMASS trounced Sacred Heart 15 to 6. This was Joe's first collegiate goal, The second game against Hofstra (#12 in the Nation) was a nail biter with UMASS losing in the last minute by 10-11. Joe scored twice in this game. Congratulations Joe!!!
The UMASS Lacrosse team is now up to 3-1 after trouncing Yale (15-6) and Harvard (7-3 ranked #11).
UMASS will probably be ranked in the top 10! |

REUNION 2008 |

| Over seventy alumni, faculty and current students participated in the ChE reunion and open house this weekend, an increase of 50% from last year (see the pictures!). While changes occur, all promised to keep in touch via CHIEF!!! |
